Oh this week has been flying by so many things going on and it still feels like I just stepped off that airplane from Alt Summit. It’s almost like I have been stuck in a different time zone for the past 3 weeks. Well to update you, I am half way through the photos which by the way isn’t saying that much because I shot more on my phone then I did my big camera. I am trying my best to edit quickly and shorten up my workflow for the sake of time and sanity. Who am I kidding these photos aren’t going into the Smithsonian although the way I meticulously edit each one you would think they are. I’m trying to get better at this people. After all I did choose simplify as my word this year.
A viewers note, I have to constrain the photo size due to the parameters set by the blog design, in other words I am making them as large as I can but some look better in FULL SIZE so if you want click on the photo and it will open up a new page in its full glory. I wish there was an easier way to show you larger sizes, that may happen in the next redesign later this year, we’ll see.
First day in Salt Lake City cloudy just a tiny bit of snow left on the ground it was around 40 degrees not too cold. My view from the the Grand America n the 15th floor looking up towards BYU.
First order of business hit up the mini bar. I was starving and my roommate was still in the air PLUS check out the optical illusion, I won’t lie this kept me entertained for at least twenty minutes.
I am the first to arrive and with a deadline that day I set up shop by the window. I raided the mini bar at this point too. Nothing says welcome to your getaway like raiding the mini bar! I loved the window light and decided to try a self portrait. I would definitely like to get a clearer picture of what I am about and doing this kind of thing helps tremendously. Very similar to the Ali Edwards series a Week In The Life.
Here I am once again feeling lost and now and then… oh that song is stuck in my head! Those of you with tweens know what that means, curse you Victorious. Seriously just me here camera on timer capturing the alone time to read and write, don’t be fooled by my lack of smile I am actually quite happy here.
The bathroom was huge with mirrored french doors perfect for a natural tryptic, hello me and me and me.
The rooms were gorgeous we were spoiled I’ll admit it living room and all. Here’s where Mae and I had room service each morning. I recommend spending the extra $20 a night for the mini suite.
Went out for a bite to eat and I can’t tell you how much Mae and I reveled in the luxury of being able to stop and take a photo without a little one saying … mommmmmmmy let’s go I’m tired. You truly have to hang with me sometime to get a feel for how much I love to wander and explore. Like I said in my first post if it wasn’t for my on-top-of-things roomie I probably wouldn’t have been on time for half of the sessions.
Messing around with the OlloClip iPhone lens (fish eye). Edited in Camera+ and Snapseed. There are so many great textures in the city, man do I miss that living in the burbs. Some of my favorite iPhone captures including these two, I took them within 24 hrs. I LOVE SNOW! You must click on the photo to appreciate the scale and tiltshift. 
And this was just day one, the conference hasn’t even begun! I’ll add some more tonight after Lacrosse, and after dinner and oh yes those 100+ emails sitting in the “awaiting response” folder.
